I would like to extend a warm welcome to existing and potential new or returning members to Pewsey Tennis Club and trust that you will all have an enjoyable tennis season. Our club remains one of the best in Wiltshire with superb facilities that we maintain to high standards. The lines on Courts 1&2 will be re-painted in the Spring and Court 3 is likely to be power-washed. We also plan to re-surface Courts 4&5 in August.
The new summer league season commences on Monday 27th April and practise sessions will commence in late March. We would really like to see more Ladies putting their names forward to play competitively. I would like to thank in advance our respective Mens/Ladies/Mixed Club Captains, Nick Hewens, Marijke Craig and Paul Coxon for all their hard work alongside Matthew Popham, our Match Secretary and all team captains – have a great season!!

REPORT ON THE CLUB MIXED DOUBLES TOURNAMENT 18TH OCTOBER 2015 NEW
Last Sunday saw the Club's Annual Mixed Doubles Tournament. Nine pairs were playing and were split into two groups, the winners of each group to play in other in the Grand final. The winners of Group 1 were Colin (our Chairman) and one of our newest members Mary Connorton who beat Amanda and Keith by a narrow margin. Winners of Group 2 were Andy and Philomena who again just beat Mathew and Patti to get into the final.
The final saw a very close match but was eventually won by Colin and Mary. Peter Deck presented the winners prizes as the Chairman could hardly present to himself !
The weather held out and over £100 was taken and will be donated to Prospect. All the players enjoyed some good tennis even those who did not get into the finals! Thanks to Lis Donaldson for organising.
CHAIRMAN'S REPORT OF THE CLUB FANCY DRESS ROLL-UP AND SUMMER BBQ 28TH JUNE
Despite inclement weather initially, club members turned up in various sartorial guises for the Club's Fancy Dress Roll-up. We had Keith & Amanda as newly weds (which they are!!) Two Fred Perry's (Colin & Toby), one shoer one tall. Frew MacMillan ( Mathhew), Heidi ( Judith) and the Super Marios ( David & Issac) who were voted the best in fancy dress ! Carlos turned up, forgot it was fancy dress but in a blink of an eye we transormed him into Zorro ( no sword thank goodness) Paula as Tinkerbell(pink tutu) spread her magic fairy dust everywhere and it even helped some of us to play better!!! Peter as a cricket umpire ensured fair play and Chrisitian played his usual fast and furious game but he was wearing the wrong head band, Pat Cash was more black and one spots I think!! Lis, as an ageing Wimbledon hippie organised the tournament with gusto and the winners by the slimmest of margins were Keith and Paula – congratulations!!
